FLLR MB001b - Tone 1980 single

thehappyone After posting the digitization of the Savage Republic KPFK 1983 session onto Tape Filler, I quickly heard back from bcingyou...who mentioned there were other tracks that were broadcast which he cut out... If I'd known you were gonna take all this tape filler stuff so seriously I would have included more that didn't fit on the 80 minute CDr I made from it. I edited out a few things like Ms. 'Enthal talking about 'new psychedelia' then playing "Going Sane" by Tone from a rare 7" out of L.A. in 1982.  I have the Tone 7" so didn't bother to include in fileset. I can't even find it on Discogs right now.   Thanks for tracking down sources to tracks which were unknown to me. I've got scads of tapes here that I recorded off radio in early 80s that contain songs that are still a mystery to me. Someday... Yes, that format vagrancy is one I hadn't considered...since CD-Rs are ten minutes shorter than a typical C90 side, so some e...

FLLR MB001 - Savage Republic, KPFK-FM broadcast, 1983-11-29 [FM0]

Fractured/Image playlist While the focus of Tape Filler is always what lies between what you wanted and the end of the tape, it's also worthwhile to present a better-quality copy (two, actually!) of the main course while you're at it. This was recorded off-air by my associate bcingyou at the time it originally aired and improves on the Nth gen copy which Fr. Image shared. This to me is *the* seminal recording of independent origin for anybody who values both this group and So. Cal post-punk overall.  One of the tracks was released on a single, a "tenth anniversary commemorative souvenir"...looks like I own one of the green vinyl copies.  Don't ask me where it is at present, hopefully in alphabetical order on a shelf. The first filler track is a Flesh Eaters (or "Flesheaters", I've seen both spellings) track, also played on the 5th of December broadcast, but "Pony Dress" and not what ended up on the release.   I have links to a couple other...

FLLR 041 - The End (demos)

The End  1st demos  Spring / Summer 1984  tracklist   Over My Shoulder [ 0:00 ] / Entertainment Tonite [ 2:44 ] / Love Comes Home [ 6:04 ] / Don't Go Thru This [ 9:07 ] / Changed My Name [ 11:02 ]    Kindly provided by RH, and shared here for the first time, that I know of. This is a second generation copy, so it's a bit hissy as a result, but not enough to detract from the proceedings. RH: " 'The End' were an 80's group from Texas. Austin or maybe Dallas - can't remember. TM was good friends with them. So was Woody, Dr. Death of Deadly Records - the promoter of the KLSU Section 25 show in 1985. "The End" were all about dark, synth wave. They played a lot of shows in Louisiana. I think they had one 7" and one 12". Saw them a few times - really good live." 'Love Comes Home' written by Tench only. The rest are Tench/David. Would love to find whether these are listed on Discogs but as there's 80+ bands with that ...
