FLLR MB001b - Tone 1980 single

After posting the digitization of the Savage Republic KPFK 1983 session onto Tape Filler, I quickly heard back from bcingyou...who mentioned there were other tracks that were broadcast which he cut out...

If I'd known you were gonna take all this tape filler stuff so seriously I would have included more that didn't fit on the 80 minute CDr I made from it. I edited out a few things like Ms. 'Enthal talking about 'new psychedelia' then playing "Going Sane" by Tone from a rare 7" out of L.A. in 1982.  I have the Tone 7" so didn't bother to include in fileset. I can't even find it on Discogs right now.

Thanks for tracking down sources to tracks which were unknown to me. I've got scads of tapes here that I recorded off radio in early 80s that contain songs that are still a mystery to me. Someday...
Yes, that format vagrancy is one I hadn't considered...since CD-Rs are ten minutes shorter than a typical C90 side, so some editing is needed when working from one format to another, assuming you weren't going to split it across multiple discs and have to pad them with that much more filler (35 minutes for each disc, if you're calculating)...as was common in the 90s through the 2010s when these were digitized, and my cohort to this day still burns things onto that format for playback/archiving....the YouTube channel is a much more convenient format, even with all the ad placements for not using their Premium offering.

And then, he sent it to me...
Hiya, here's Tape Filler MB01b of Ms. 'Enthal's intro to Tone and my needletrop to both songs from rare 7". She may be wrong when she said local band as, according to Discogs, it's from Oz/NZ from 1980. https://www.discogs.com/master/2243749-Tone-Stick-In-Your-Mind

She surely misspoke/misremembered, as the Redline Records in question was an AU/OZ label, and while there have been about 20 labels by that name, in 1983, that one was the only one.  In this case, this was likely the band's own imprint as there seems to be nothing else they seem to have put out...and the 1990s based distribution/label by the same name is likely unrelated.

...and after a bit of editing/cleanup, here it is:

FLLR - MB001b - Tone 1980 single

Note: the A side is "Stick In Your Mind", but for the purposes of presentation, I've kept it the same order as sent, as Andrea played the B-side, so lead off with her intro.

Photo taken from Get Smart! FB Page

This photo which I used for the thumbnail turns out to not be of Andrea at all, but of Get Smart! themselves, their song "Ankle Deep In Mud" which would have featured as well...  This is on Bandcamp, in case you're interested...

According to their Bandcamp, "Get Smart! formed in Lawrence, KS in 1980. The group helped to solidify Lawrence as an alternative music hotbed and toured extensively, performing 300 shows in six years.

They released a flexi-disc and Words Move, a 4-track EP in 1981.  In 1983 they relocated to Chicago. Their first LP, "Action Reaction" was released in 1984.  The band's second LP, "Swimming With Sharks" was released in 1986."

There's a YouTube clip that *is* behind the scenes with Andrea 'Enthal... as I noted in the comments, since the 'These Immortal Souls' LP came out in October, and they were playing in LA that night (at "Scream" at the Park Plaza Hotel), this clip dates from 19th March 1988.

Cover art...for TONE.
