<< I remember playing the hell out of this tape back in the day.  Don't think a better set of songs I can come up with that represented this time for me, and is a perfect blend of shoegaze into postpunk.  "Gone" was of course covered by Martin L. Gore on his Counterfeit EP.   Was lucky to see many of these bands live, but missed out on CURVE (though my friends caught them), nor have I seen DEAD CAN DANCE or THE CS ANGELS (as they were known for or a while) or THE DURUTTI COLUMN >>

My project for this part of the year is to transfer a huge cache of DATs (pictured above) that contain much that likely has already been put out there but also seems to have quite a bit that has not. So of course here at tapefiller.org the whole point isn't to present these (they will go through the usual channels) but instead, anything that wasn't listed on either the spine or in an insert, grouped in digestible bites of songs. FLLR 003 - New Order + ACR bits and bobs

Our third post in, and we have a bunch of miscellaneous, simply -lovely- Factory filler for you. New Order end their Saturday Live performance (which otherwise won't feature here, you can readily find this on YouTube) with a tease of Smokey Robinson's "My Girl" - A1 Then the band, appearing in an MTV Tokyo interview when they played Japan in February of 1987, talk about some of their quite innovative and remarkable music videos - A2 A3  - Then the video mix of 'Confusion' is featured, which you can hear here (hear hear!) Or you can watch the actual video, which Warners has generously (to make a few dollars from their catalog) shared online. What struck me when I first saw this video (on the Substance 1989 video compilation) is that you could clearly see the name of the person featured getting ready to go to the show, at about 1:25 in, as this clip coveniently reveals.  ALISE BITIC.   And incredibly enough, here she is today, now

FLLR 016 - New Order Tapes (part 10)

 New Order tapes part 10 of unknown. This tape was the source of a gigographical inaccuracy introduced in late November 2001 with the insertion of "In A Lonely Place" (known in taping circles as Little Boy ) into the setlist.   This can be documented here, via looking at the New Order gigography, referred to as "Waterrat", as that was the name that site maintainer Anthony Leal used for his domain,  the version on archive from 10/7/2001 on the old Waterrat NO gigography only lists 10 tracks, comparing it to the version on there from 12/18/2001 on Waterrat's site. shows the addition of Little Boy, which interestingly enough, was added between "Confusion" and "Age Of Consent", not where it is situated here, where it is (appropriately enough) inserted as tape filler to round out Side A.  The notes I maintain as to when a listing was updated also fall in line with the change caused by the appearance of this tape. version 1.44.4  11/26/01 -------
