FLLR TZ001 - Tomzero tapes (part 1)

From a first gen tape made by Tomzero for GaoBest, this is a show that both of them attended on Friday, April 11th, 1997 at the Bottom Of The Hill in SF, which you can see listed for the 11th.


Some neat shows like Dwarves, Hazel, and That Dog, as well as Henry's Dress and Poundsign, the last of which I saw earlier this year!

The Divine Comedy show was first circulated on DIME at the end of January 2010.  I'm certain that if you were to A/B this against the master, it would sound very similar.

1998 - East Of Monument


As for the live tracks, only the third and fifth tracks match up to anything released, wasn't able to ID the first, second, and forth tracks.  Technically, this isn't "filler", as I don't think this has been digitized before.

I upped both Sneaker Pimps and Kula Shaker onto YouTube, as they haven't seem to be put out there.
They are also included in lossless download below.  Sneaker Pimps was featured on the Alex Bennett morning show, shortly before Alex was sacked in favor of a music-spinning DJ...only a handful of musical acts ever played on his show, the other one I'm aware of were Juliana Hatfield and Belly (I think)....

My project for this part of the year is to transfer a huge cache of DATs (pictured above) that contain much that likely has already been put out there but also seems to have quite a bit that has not. So of course here at tapefiller.org the whole point isn't to present these (they will go through the usual channels) but instead, anything that wasn't listed on either the spine or in an insert, grouped in digestible bites of songs. FLLR GB001 - GaoBest tapes - Saint Etienne

  South Parade Pier, Portsmouth FLLR GB001 = Saint Etienne This first selection from this Maxell XLII 90 minute tape was recorded on 1993-03-05 at South Parade Pier, Portsmouth. Taper is abbreviated as YP, who probably recorded with a Sony TC-D3 DAT and Aiwa CM-30 mics.  GaoBest's copy comes directly from the taper. It's one of his favorites, he played it frequently before it got shelved and then loaned out to me to ascertain and compare to what's already out there.   This show is already up on YouTube, here, from  "whatdoidonow 1997 ", and my tape source doesn't better it. Turns out that my tape ran a bit fast compared to this reference, so slowed it down 4.67% or about .79 a semitone, so that it is the exact same 45:00 length.  I've also provided the original transfer so you can compare and conclude it indeed runs too fast. FLLR 003 - New Order + ACR bits and bobs

Our third post in, and we have a bunch of miscellaneous, simply -lovely- Factory filler for you. New Order end their Saturday Live performance (which otherwise won't feature here, you can readily find this on YouTube) with a tease of Smokey Robinson's "My Girl" - A1 Then the band, appearing in an MTV Tokyo interview when they played Japan in February of 1987, talk about some of their quite innovative and remarkable music videos - A2 A3  - Then the video mix of 'Confusion' is featured, which you can hear here (hear hear!) Or you can watch the actual video, which Warners has generously (to make a few dollars from their catalog) shared online. What struck me when I first saw this video (on the Substance 1989 video compilation) is that you could clearly see the name of the person featured getting ready to go to the show, at about 1:25 in, as this clip coveniently reveals.  ALISE BITIC.   And incredibly enough, here she is today, now
