New Order tapes part 8 of unknown. I'm not sure when this series will end, maybe when I run out of tapes to go through, or people stop sticking filler at the end.  CD-R compilations are not dissimilar but somehow in the digital realm, there's less of a predilection to mix-and-match since everything is short attention-span theater anyway, as people go from one YouTube link or another or hop six ways until Sunday through on Spotify playlist or another. New Order tapes part 6 of unknown Various and sundry culled from live tapes of the band.  Filler at its finest. FLLR012 - 01 880621 - Radio City NZ 194 FM - 'Disco Club' Mix This is pretty obscure, an unknown "Disco Club" mix from New Zealand radio blending True Faith, Confusion, and Bizarre Love Triangle, and Subculture.  Totally exclusive to this show.  Love the orchestral strings at the start. FLLR012 - 02 Paradise ('87 Aus Remix) 12 in dub This, of course, is the Robert Racic mix.  One of my favorite NO remixes, and as far as I know, never released on CD or elsewhere, except maybe on a random compilation or three. The first two tracks were taken from a tape of one of New Order's 1987 Australian shows. New Order tapes part 5 of unknown Various and sundry culled from live tapes of the band.  Filler at its finest. FLLR011 - 01 various FLLR011 - 02 Sooner Than You Think (cuts) Pictured is the tape where the full recording of this show resides.  These tracks were excerpts from a 90 minute soundcheck and were filler added to the end of this tape, "+SOUNDCHECK excerpt". This is accounted as the best performance of all of their Australian '87 shows. New Order tapes part 4 of unknown Various and sundry culled from live tapes of the band.  Filler at its finest. FLLR010 - 01 Warsaw - You're No Good For Me "Don't know what I'm doing - don't know where I'm going Leading me to ruin - I should have traded you in Yeah, you think you're something but you're no good for me..." Quite an enjoyable little ditty.  Listening to this in isolation, you'd have no idea that this 1977-era punk tune would lead onto the majesty of Joy Division, rather than a bunch of blokes that got together to record a few tracks just for the fun of it. FLLR010 - 02 'Shooting On The Move'   (megamix that incorporates Prime 5-8-6) Quite a strange blend of 'Prime 5-8-6' with some samples / soundtrack material not far removed from a chilled out Cabaret Voltaire cum ACR in their Tribeca NYC loft.  I'm sure if I kept better track, I'd have a better idea of its provenance. New Order tapes part 3 of unknown Various and sundry culled from live tapes of the band.  Filler at its finest. FLLR009 - 01 Ceremony (800502, mix AUD-SBD) FLLR009 - 02 24 Hours  (800502) Both of these are from Joy Division's final concert at High Hall in Birmingham.  Obviously, you'll see selections from New Order's previous incarnation, it's unavoidable.  Never understood those who like one over the other...it's the same continuum, and in the case of 'Ceremony' a track that was written as Joy Division and released as New Order. "Ceremony" is a blend from the best-sounding audience version into the "Still" soundboard version, which starts late as it's said the person manning the mixing desk started the tape late. 24 Hours only appears on LP/tape versions...even in 2008, with the Joy Division reissue of "Still"...which believe me, was frustrating.... New Order tapes part 2 of unknown Various and sundry culled from live tapes of the band.  Filler at its finest. FLLR008 - 01 1984 French interview The band talking to a French (or is it a French-speaking Swiss) person.  The band only seemed to want to avoid the English press.  Fancy that!  Not that you were going to get anything particularly insightful.  "How do you feel about discos, G-illian?"  The band try to righteously correct the interviewer's hard G pronouncing her name into a soft one (this fails, see belows).  Gillian then chirps "They're alright".  He then asked why people prefer gay discos, which is a slightly better question, and the one he probably should have asked to begin with. Actually, I have to give this interviewer some credit for asking if the band felt pissed as being called a disco band, which leaves Stephen repeatedly wondering "what is a disco band"...and simultaneously concluding there's no such ...
